About Motorspot
A scrap yard that built itself up from a field
Motorspot is Motorspot Ltd, the company you may know as MLB Autospares Limited: an Authorised Treatment Facility that has collected, depolluted and recycled scrap cars from its own yard on Kilnhurst Road, Mexborough, since August 2014. The price you see on this site is paid by the people who actually take the car in — not a call centre, not a broker.

From a field to this
In August 2014 the Environment Agency granted MLB Autospares its licence to treat end-of-life vehicles, and we started taking cars in at Kilnhurst Road. There is no romance in what the place looked like: a field, with no concrete, no buildings and no machinery to speak of. Cars were taken apart with what we had.
Everything on the yard now was paid for by the cars that came through it. Over the years since, millions of pounds have gone into the site itself — the concrete and drainage a treatment facility runs on, the buildings, the balers, the Powerhand excavators, the scrap handlers, and the recovery trucks that do the collecting. It is the same yard, the same people and the same company number; in October 2026 the company became Motorspot Ltd, and the name on the trucks and the website changed with it.
That history is why the site can say what it says. The count at the top of this page is not an estimate — it is every car in our own collection records since 2015, and it goes up as the yard works. It is also why the price we quote is the price that gets paid: the people who set it are the people who will depollute the car, strip it and bale it here.

Licensed, and checkable
Every scrap car in England has to go to an Authorised Treatment Facility. We are one, on our own permit, and the registers are public — look us up rather than take our word for it.
- Environment Agency permit BB3507XB — public register
- Waste carrier registration CBDU237104 — public register
- Vehicle operator’s licence OB2020519 for our own lorries — Traffic Commissioners’ register
- Motorspot Ltd (formerly MLB Autospares Limited), company 08175030 — Companies House
- Certificates of Destruction are issued by us, as the ATF, and the DVLA is told you are no longer the keeper — how that works.
- Registered office: Kilnhurst Road, Kilnhurst, Mexborough, South Yorkshire S64 5TL.
If a bank transfer, a DVLA letter or an old review still says MLB Autospares Limited, that is us — the company changed its name in October 2026 and nothing else.
